About The Course
The consumer movement has come a long way in India since the enactment of the Consumer Protection Act 1986 that provides for better protection of the interests of consumers and for that purpose to make provision for the establishment of consumer councils and other authorities for the settlement of consumer disputes.
The new Consumer Protection Act 2019 tightened the existing rules and replaced the three decade old Act of 1986 providing safeguards for consumer rights through the introduction of a central regulator, strict penalties for misleading advertisements and guidelines for e-commerce and electronic service providers being a few key highlights.
